Steven W. Malik, M.D. Sports Medicine Dr. Steven Malik joined Southern Orthopedic Specialists in August 2009 after completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at The American Institute of Sports Medicine in Birmingham, AL. During his time in Birmingham, Dr. Malik completed advanced courses in hip arthroscopy and cartilage restoration. |
| He also worked as the team orthopedic surgeon for the Alabama State University sports program and and currently works closely with several of the Bay County school athletic programs. Dr. Malik graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. In 2003, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Malik completed three years of residency in orthopedic surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans until hurricane Katrina. He then transferred to the Medical College of Wisconsin to finish the last two years of his residency. While in Wisconsin, Dr. Malik completed advanced courses in trauma and minimal incision joint replacements. Dr. Malik practices general orthopedic surgery with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy. Board Certification Dr. Malik is board eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
